Booth Ready Productions

Studio-grade tools for solo audiobook narrators.

Two products, one mission: give the home-booth narrator the same team a real studio used to have. Booth Ready prepares the manuscript. Proof Ready verifies the recording. Built by a working narrator, used in real chapters every week.

With advances like RX 12, I can produce excellent quality audio without an engineer. And thanks to Booth Ready, I can deliver accurate dialogue without a proofer. The home booth has finally caught up to the studio.

The Booth Ready Family

Two products. One workflow.

Each product replaces a specific studio role that the solo narrator lost twenty years ago. They run in sequence: prep before you record, proof after.

Product 1 · Manuscript Prep

Booth Ready

From manuscript to narration-ready in 48 hours.

Booth Ready ingests a raw manuscript and returns a production-grade prep pack — the same artifacts a studio's pre-production team would build, generated for the home narrator overnight.

  • Character sheets with voice direction
  • Pronunciation guides for every proper noun
  • Cast breakdowns and dialogue maps
  • Complexity reports and chapter summaries
  • Booth-ready PDFs with pronunciations inline
Product 2 · Audio Proofing

Proof Ready

From recorded take to script-verified delivery.

Proof Ready runs a forensic diff between recorded audio and the source script — every misread, dropped word, and mispronunciation flagged with an audible beep right on the audio and a tiered written report.

  • Marked audio (.mp3) with beep cues at every divergence
  • .cue sidecar for Reaper, Pro Tools, Audition, Studio One
  • Tiered report: must-fix, recommended, observation
  • Free audition proof — unlimited, same-day on weekdays
  • Per-chapter, per-book, and per-finished-hour pricing

Why this matters

The studio team, rebuilt in software.

A real audiobook studio used to have four roles in the room. Solo narrators replaced one of them years ago. Booth Ready Productions covers the other three.

Engineer

Replaced by RX 12 & modern DAW tools.

Solo narrators already win on audio quality. iZotope RX, Audiate, and clean-room mics closed the engineering gap years ago. ACX doesn't reject home audio anymore.

Casting director · Dialect coach

Replaced by Booth Ready.

The studio's pre-production team built character notes, pronunciation lists, and dialect references before the narrator walked in. Booth Ready ships the same pack overnight.

Proofreader · Director-in-the-booth

Replaced by Proof Ready.

The studio's director called "cut" the second a read drifted from the script. The proofreader checked every line afterward. Proof Ready does both — in software, audibly, on every chapter.

RX 12 replaced the engineer. Booth Ready replaces the casting director. Proof Ready replaces the proofreader. The home booth has finally caught up to the studio.

About

Built by a working narrator.

Mike Vendetti is an audiobook narrator in Florence, Colorado. He's been narrating professionally since the early 2010s — Sherlock Holmes, Sinclair Lewis, Burroughs, Faulkner, and a current contemporary catalog that includes Magnolia's Obsession and The Awakening. Booth Ready and Proof Ready started as private tools he built for his own booth. Other narrators asked for access. Booth Ready Productions is what those tools became.
